Group Show at Griffin Museum: 37 Photographers / One Model

In this episode, David and Elyssa discuss David’s participation in the upcoming gallery show: 37 Photographers / One Model at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA. The images will be on display May 5 – June 12, 2016, with an opening reception scheduled for May 12 from 6-9pm. An invitation for David to take part in this show came about after he had taken the workshop: Beyond the Pose with photographer Karin Rosenthal this past summer. All of the images are made by photographers who had photographed Jim, a male model at one of Karin’s workshops. David also speaks about his background in Fine-Art photography and how it has had a daily effect on his work as a commercial photographer and the importance of making the time to partake in workshops to learn something new, expand one’s vision and stay fresh. David has also taken classes at the Maine Media Workshops and the Cape Cod Photo Workshops.

In Episode 2, David and Elyssa discuss the importance of creating a reliable internal and external team. The internal team helps David make everything happen behind the scenes, creating the magic, from contracts to post processing and marketing. David sees his team of partner photographers not as competition but as ally partners that he can hire and provide work to under the auspices of the organization. Bringing them on to cover additional gigs as well as a second and sometimes third photographer on an event is essential to the continued success of the company. They also discuss how they view their clients as part of the team as well as Photofolio, their online portfolio website host.
